Introducing Our Gardens- One Bed at a Time  Over the next several weeks, the various themed garden beds will be introduced. Check back each week to see what is happening in our garden. Rock Outcrop Garden Our granitic Rock Outcrop Garden (composed of recycled rip-rap and a crushed granite mixture) went in the ground during the spring of 2013,  Once installed, the plantings took hold with very little effort. As seen in the photo below, taken just prior to winter pruning, the use of mulch was heavy and will be removed in March with the warmer temperatures.                                                                               Rock Outcrop Garden. January 15, 2015 The idea behind the rock outcrop gardens is inspired by the water wise planning of landscapes, and as most people prefer, a minimal amount of required maintenance. The photos below show fairly rigorous growth between the original planting date in April 2013 and the second photograph from May 2013.
